“My research examines the interactions between the most common jellyfish in the eastern Mediterranean, the Rhopelima nomadica, and the bacterial populations that live with and within it. These interactions are significant and can affect many processes, such as the development, behavior, and health of many organisms.

We examine these interactions at different stages of the jellyfish bloom formation, from the early stages of jellyfish development to the emergence of giant blooms. By doing so, we try and answer some of the many questions surrounding the emergence and disappearance of the blooms.

I have a bachelor’s degree in marine biotechnology from Ruppin College. I started my master’s degree at the University of Haifa in my current research and then moved directly to my Ph.D. studies.

I love the sea, and I am happy to be part of a team that tries to discover new things about our environment.”
