My name is Itai Kolsky, a doctoral student at the University of Haifa in the Leon Charney School of Marine Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Tal Luzzatto Knaan and Prof. Tali Mass.

My research focuses on polysaccharides synthesized by microalgae during their growth and release into their surrounding environment. Polysaccharides have potential applications in various fields, such as cosmetics and medicine.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in marine sciences from the Ruppin Academic Center about 15 years ago, and since then, I’ve been involved in marine agriculture. In recent years, I returned to academia to advance applied research in mariculture, emphasizing algae agriculture. I completed a master’s at the University of Haifa.
